International Women Democratic Peace Alliance
Elevating Voices, Empowering Change: Women Leading the Path to Peace and Democracy
The International Women Democratic Peace Alliance (IWDPA) project is a comprehensive initiative designed to address the multifaceted challenges posed by social, political, health, and economic issues through fostering international cooperation and inclusive strategies. The project recognizes the pivotal roles of democracy, peace, and women’s leadership in creating a more equitable and harmonious society. Through various activities, including podcasts, online magazines, and seminars, the IWDPA project aims to stimulate dialogue, knowledge exchange, and empowerment among stakeholders in peace and democracy.
The project seeks to address underlying issues such as social unrest, political polarization, and weak governance in a world grappling with the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic and facing renewed disparities and geopolitical tensions. The challenges faced by democratic systems in times of crisis highlight the need for comprehensive strategies that include marginalized groups and diverse perspectives in decision-making processes. The project is rooted in the belief that democracy and peace are intertwined pillars of societal progress, and their advancement requires the active participation of women at all levels of society.
The IWDPA project has set clear objectives and strategies to achieve its mission:
- Promote Women’s Leadership and Transformative Change: Through engaging podcasts, the project aims to amplify women’s voices, inspire societal transformation, and promote peacebuilding and democracy across Latin America.
- Online Magazine and Narrative Shaping: The project will publish an online magazine featuring in-depth situational analysis and case studies of Honduras, Guatemala, Bolivia, and Paraguay.
- Establishing an International Alliance: The project will organize online and in-person seminars to facilitate dialogue, knowledge exchange, and the formation of an international consortium/alliance dedicated to promoting peace and security in the region.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY - FRAMEWORK FOR CHANGE
Non-Violent Activism Across Borders for Free, Secure, and Just Societies
Despite Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua being undeniably dictatorships, from Mexico to Argentina, neither fully democratic nor authoritarian regimes violate human rights, individual liberties, and political rights, severely eroding democracies, perverting the justice system, and degrading their armed forces.
Authoritarian regimes lead to poverty, corruption, inequality, and exclusion of their people rather than consolidating democratic principles, values, and institutions. The issue is no longer a humanitarian, immigration, or economic concern but a critical threat to their people’s and the region’s security.
Non-violent social movements can challenge oppressive regimes and pressure to force change in public policies, ultimately advancing democratic transition and the rule of law.
With your funding, we will foster a more inclusive political landscape throughout Latin American countries, empowering clusters of civil society organizations and grassroots movements that historically have played a crucial role in promoting social justice and advancing genuine democratic reforms. We are confident this is achievable through intelligent and bold investment in our organization.

Women Empowerment In Latinamerican Democracies
Advancing the role of women in democracy is the next frontier in the evolution of continental democracy, with a focus on empowering young Latin American women.
Democracy is a constantly evolving system that adapts to social and political changes.
In this sense, Its future depends on the effective participation of all citizens, especially the new generations. Therefore, including their priorities in the political agenda is fundamental to building a just and egalitarian society.
Indeed, there are still significant challenges to overcome on the road to achieve full participation of women in democracy. Still, we are convinced and optimistic that we can all move towards a more inclusive and diverse future.
We aim to stimulate young Latin American women to participate in the democratic process, raising awareness and visibility for women’s interests from a woman’s perspective, helping them connect with like-minded women leaders and organizations worldwide.
We aim to question beliefs and behaviors to change the current paradigms towards the exercise of their democratic rights and the expansion of their welfare alternatives.
We aim to challenge the status quo of civil and political rights, culture, and social norms, pursuing not mindless progressive goals but real change that benefits women.
