Hugo Antonio Acha is a Senior Research Fellow for CTOC for the Center for a Secure Free Society (SFS). He is also the Director of Research and Outreach for the Foundation for Human Rights in Cuba (FHRC). Mr. Acha is a recognized researcher and lecturer in Counterterrorism and Combating Transnational Organized Crime and a guest lecturer to different academic institutions as well as an analyst for several media outlets both in the US and Latin America.
Mr. Acha got his Law Degree from the Universidad Mayor de San Simon in Cochabamba-Bolivia in 1995, his postgraduate education includes courses and diplomas in the Netherlands (Maastricht School of Management) and Brazil (Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais) and a Master’s Degree in Security, Defense, and Development (Escuela de Altos Estudios Nacionales de la Universidad Militar de Bolivia). He is also an alumnus of the William J. Perry Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies in Washington DC.
