Alessandra Quadri, born in Italy. She graduated in Latin American Languages and Literatures from the University of Milan (Italy) in 2005, with an experimental thesis on the value of the word in the defense of human rights during the period of armed confrontation in Guatemala. In 2007, she obtained a Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Ethics of International Cooperation at the University of Bergamo (Italy) and in 2012 she received a Ph.D. in Human Rights and International Cooperation at the same university.
In both experiences, I worked in Guatemala. In the first, in the Edumaya office of the Rafael Landívar University (Guatemala City), studying Mayan customary law and developing a project on the civic-political participation of indigenous women in rural areas; in the second with fieldwork on the cultural dimension of the right to food. During the Doctorate period I worked jointly with the Interdisciplinary Institute of Ethics and Human Rights of the University of Friborg (Switzerland) with research on the cultural rights of children and with the UNESCO Chair on Human Rights and International Cooperation of the University of Bergamo, developing a UNESCO Chair Network of Central America (Guatemala, Honduras, Cuba, Mexico) on Human Rights, Peace, Democracy and Bioethics, carrying out a cultural exchange with the UNESCO Chair for Cultural Diversity of Rafael Landívar University.
In the rest of my career I developed extensive experience in project management in multicultural environments, working with various non-profit organizations and for international cooperation in Italy and abroad. I managed, in various areas, the development, planning and management of network and project organizational processes from stakeholder engagement to monitoring and final evaluations. Today I work on the implementation of a project of the Italian Cooperation in Kenya for the NGO Aleimar and I am a project consultant for the search for funds and writing for several Italian and foreign organizations.
